It throws a cone of brilliantly hot magnesium sparks which do about 360 miles per hour and have a surface temperature greater than 5000 degrees Fahrenheit. This forceful cone of sparks inundates deep into tinder and can burn through hard materials as readily as a propane torch. It will work at high altitude, wet, and in a gale force wind. It will last for many thousands of sparks. It requires very little dexterity and only one hand to operate this tool. We highly recomend it.
